To more effectively promote the 2011 NPC & DNA A&B Festival, we need to enforce strict deadlines concerning merchant, author and sponsor participation. Please read through this information for authors, and then send in your application on or before Monday, Feb. 21, to be a part of April 9, 2011. It’s a feather in any author’s cap to be accepted into this quality showcase. It might look like a daunting application form at first, but that’s just our way of ensuring we offer the best of you to an already well-perceived event.
Provide Books
Another promotion and marketing tactic the head of the Authors & Books Festival committee has requested of us is to provide books! After you receive word that you’ve been accepted…after we assign you your special merchant along Fifth Avenue, please take a copy of your book and a simple table-top book stand to the merchant. This gives you a great opportunity to meet & greet your A&B partner, ask each other questions and share information, and give your merchant a valuable marketing tool to display.
Don’t Break the Law
Please note: merchants along Fifth Avenue cannot let authors sell their wares from the sidewalk without special permits, which are applied for and granted well in advance of scheduled events. The NPC DNA Authors & Books Festival does not have a permit from the City of Naples to allow sales from the street/sidewalks in front of businesses. This means authors will be required to adhere to the original concept of the NPC DNA A&B Festival and remain indoors during the day’s event, drawing readers into the shops. While the DNA will have appropriate signage for the event in general, each accepted author is expected to bring adequate signage that is professional in appearance to alert the passing public that he or she is hosted within the store. (Any signage that is deemed unprofessional by either DNA or NPC leadership will be removed.)
Watch for the Map
Also note: The DNA will once again award prizes to shoppers who visit multiple authors throughout the day. As shoppers visit your table/your merchant to get your signature on their special map, please remember to thank them for participating in the 2011 Authors & Books Festival activities. Maybe you’ll come up with a special prize you’d like to give to one of those lucky shoppers for stopping in to see you. If so, make sure you write down names and info so we can promote it on this site afterward! Once all the prizes are awarded, the members of the DNA committee will give us their information to post on this website so we can congratulate all the lucky shoppers!
Remember Your A&B Festival Deadline
Apply on or before Monday, Feb. 21 (President’s Day)
We must receive your application and payment on or before Feb. 21.
We will let you know who your merchant partner is in early March so you have a full month to promote, work with your merchant, deliver your book, see your name on the website, etc.

Just a reminder that all the authors signing up to participate in this prestigious event will be matched with merchants and notified in early March so the mega-promotion can begin!
The application form may be daunting but I can’t find it. I’m an author who’s interested in exhibiing my new book at the festival, but I must be also very dense–think I’ve pushed every button without finding anything that even resembles an application. It’s possible I may have one or two other authors interested as well. Can you fill me in?

I am a member of NPC and also an author. I would like to be included in featuring my books (signing) at the authors book festival in April. Please advise!
For Current NPC members the first time slot registered is free. Please go the online registration and select “NPC Member” Ticket. But hurry, extended the registration only until 6pm today. After that… you are missing out on all the promotional activities we have planned. You already missed the Feb 21st deadline. Today’s deadline is final.
